Six days of shooting, two countries, three cities and one desert
For some it is an argument, for others a kiss, for others it is breaking out of a constricting role. Our first collection, Origin, is intended to symbolize the origin of Ripin Racing. Our launch film shows that the new is always waiting for you, tempting and challenging you.
It is the beginning.
Origin.
In total we have worked out five different scenes. All of them are central to the idea of "Origin", the origin. Something emerges, something becomes, something begins to grow. That's why we thematize the beginning, but also the failure, which is shown again and again in life. With the launch of Ripin Racing we convey the feelings of buoyancy, rebellion and passion. Determined, a new path into the unknown is dared.
Spain, Berlin & Düsseldorf
With our ideas we sent our crew on a little adventure. For seven days, 24/7 they were busy in Spain and in the cities of Berlin and Düsseldorf.
DAY ONE. WHAT THE F...?!
3:40 in the morning, the alarm clock rings. Quickly put your pants on, pour down the coffee and go over everything again in your head. While we load the machines onto the cars, the film crew checks the equipment for the upcoming shoot. We set off to film the first scene for the launch film of the Origin Collection. We are a 15-man team that fights its way through thick wafts of mist into the interior of Spain. Four motorcyclists in a desert, who together embark on a journey into the unknown. The four riders give everything. Manoeuvres, jumps, hillclimbs. Even the driver of the Black Car camera car has worked up a sweat, because even the sand clouds didn't make his life any easier - but the shots are all the more beautiful.
Day 2. The Spanish sun
A rainy night, little sleep, the phone rings for the first time. The second time...
<< Öhh hola.. Buenos días?! >>
BERLIN
Day three.
While our plane is heading for Tegel Airport, our people in Berlin are already at work. For the scene, which takes place in a prefabricated housing estate, a 3-room apartment is completely turned upside down. The building's elevator is suddenly in continuous operation. The residents are naturally thrilled. Our plane lands and with the van we go directly to the shooting location. There is no time for a break, because the blue hour must not be missed.
Day 4.
...one more time, please! At 6 o'clock in the morning thick steel cables are already being stretched, 20 self-made fluorescent tubes are to be positioned for an extraordinary light installation. The abandoned warehouse offers a lot of space and creative freedom. In the evening a DJ is to bring the gloomy rooms to life. The planned scene will play at a rave. While our two actors in love perform in the icy cold, our party guests move accordingly to the bass. Around 5 o'clock at night the party is over. Frozen through and tired, but still foggy from the good mood, we feverishly await the last days of shooting.
Day five.
Spinning tyres, flying dirt, smoke and the smell of burnt rubber. The film crew is cavorting in an abandoned parking lot. Kenny poses on the machine, equipped with the customized decor of Hoker One (see Ripin x Hoker One).
Day 7 Düsseldorf
Change of location. But Berlin is still in our bones. Between rusty building lights, oil barrels and confused junk, our models give their all. Having started in the Spanish desert, we now finish our shooting in a small workshop in Düsseldorf. The origin defined, is now produced, worked and screwed more and more.
